Hinton James

Hinton James
From Down East
Like a secret weapon
Was unleashed
All he had when he set out —
A simple plan,
A name obscure

Fading now
But it remains
On South Campus
“Hinton WHO?”

But he persists
In blood and stone
Above the door,
When they leave home

They disappear,
Disperse like leaves
Then reappear
On every tree
